About Pure Earth Colombia

Since we started operations in Colombia at the end of 2016, we have been working on multiple fronts to reduce the prevalence of toxic pollution and the cost associated with human health; It is a long-term work, in alliance with local and national authorities as a contribution to country programs and defined public policies. In this way, the programs have focused on vulnerable communities in the context of the social problems that impact Colombia.

Prize winners of Artisanal Mining Grand Challenge: The Amazon

Four teams were announced as winners in The Artisanal Mining Grand Challenge: The Amazon for their achievements developing new innovations to conserve the Amazon rainforest, Pure Earth was one of them.  With the improvement of a technique that uses silver-coated copper plates to decontaminate ASGM tailings, Pure Earth team won one of the prizes that the challenge awarded. This global competition, through innovation and technology, seeks to transform artisanal and small-scale gold mining into a more environmentally responsible and socially equitable practice.
