Fundraising Specialist (Full time/ Part Time)
Mumbai or Delhi


Pure Earth is the leading international Environmental Health not-for-profit that pioneers to evidence-based solutions to toxic pollution, especially lead and mercury, the two most prevalent pollutants in the developing countries. Pollution is the leading cause of the death in world, more than HIV, AIDS and TB combined. Pure Earth identifies and cleans up severely polluted places where human health, especially that of women and children, is most at risk. Since 1999, Pure Earth has completed 120+ projects in 24 countries, impacting few millions lives.

The Fundraising Specialist will be part of India team and will work closely with PureEarth board members and Country Director (India) for their regular advises and strategic planning inputs in obtaining CSR grants from large and medium-size corporate and brands. The Fundraising Specialist will be based either in Mumbai or Delhi but should be willing to travel to other states as and when required. This will be a senior CSR marketing & corporate fundraising role with demonstrated ability to work independently, build long-lasting relationship with Corporate CSR Heads, utilize existing network to reach out to the corporate heads and influence them for investment in health and environment sector. He should have wide-ranging knowledge and understanding of the Indian CSR and philanthropic sector, processes of program design, concept, proposal and help Pure Earth to secure CSR capital and drive the income-flow for implementation of different health & environmental remediation projects. S/he should have sufficient knowledge and experience of creating large CSR portfolio for the organization especially in the area of health and/or environment. In India, Pure Earth works in close partnership with Government, UN and international development agencies, health organizations, industries and civil society organizations.

● Plan and develop strategies for long-term and short-term funding for large health projects
● Conceptualize, develop, maintain and implement successful business development
● Analyze organizational needs and the funding requirements of potential projects
● Quickly establish channels for income generation from the existing contacts/ corporate networks
● Identify potential corporate / philanthropic organizations interested in environment, health or child health issues
● Develop fundraising pitches and connect with the corporate heads to drive Pure Earth’s mission in India
● Integrate different strategies as part of CSR mandate of corporates specifically with MNCs in order to achieve
the organization’s overall objectives
● Establish and nurture effective donor communication to build long lasting relationships
● In consultation with PE’s communication team, design online fund-raising campaigns and cause related marketing
● Work closely with programme team towards developing proposals, concept notes and pitch decks
● Manage all donor engagement activities and compliances such as reporting including financial details
● Continuously lead fund generation activities through extensive research and networking
● Regularly participate in CSR/ corporate events for brandishing PE’s global achievement for child health cause
● Regularly track donations/ CSR budgets, monitor fund-inflow progress, and reporting on income activities.
● Regularly follow up with the corporate for status of proposals submitted and update supervisor
● Track various grant announcements and submit proposals on time.

● Post-graduate in marketing, social work or equivalent degree obtained from a reputed university
● Demonstrable track record with 10 years of experience in securing high-value grants from foundations, large corporate, trusts or philanthropic individuals in a target-driven environment
● Self-motivated and entrepreneurial, confident in making approaches to corporate heads or communicating with senior staff and philanthropists
● Already established a network with large corporate / philanthropists
● Good knowledge of grants and CSR spending trends

● Successful in large fund-raising in different organizations
● Good network with well-known corporate/ MNCs
● Eager to learn and use board members references into a successful business development
● Good communication and presentation skills
