Solve pollution. Save lives.
Protect the planet.

The Lead Safe Bangladesh Coalition welcomes the launch of the Platform for a Lead-Free Future (PLF), spearheaded by USAID and UNICEF, on September 23rd in New York, during the 79th United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week.

This vital partnership aims to address minimizing lead exposure, a critical issue encountered in low- and middle-income countries such as Bangladesh, where one in two children is affected. Lead pollution, which claims more lives than HIV and malaria combined, represents an urgent public health crisis that jeopardizes both children’s development and the global future.

The PLF will bring together governments, UN agencies, development banks, foundations, and philanthropies to coordinate global efforts, foster cross-sector collaboration, and implement scalable solutions to mitigate lead exposure. The Lead Safe Bangladesh Coalition remains dedicated to supporting these initiatives by sharing information, advocating for robust policy frameworks, and raising public awareness to protect future generations.

We look forward to collaborating with USAID, UNICEF, and all other stakeholders in advancing towards a lead-free future for all.
