A training workshop was held in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, in August 2020 as part of the Arctic Contaminants Action Program (ACAP). The workshop provided training in Rapid Environmental Assessment methods for assessing sites contaminated with pesticides and in using TSIP assessment methods and database.

There were 16 participants, including 13 in person, and 3 participating remotely using zoom. Participants came from Krasnoyarsk, Arkhangelsk, Syktyvkar, Vladivostok, Moscow, and Novosibirsk.

Following the workshop, plans will be to conduct assessments of 6-9 sites contaminated with obsolete pesticides in Krasnoyarsky krai, Arkhangelsk Oblast and Komi Republic of the Russian Federation. This work continues previous TSIP assessments in Russia, and an earlier project of the Arctic Council Arctic Contaminants Action Program on obsolete pesticides in northern Russia.
