 About Yayasan Pure Earth Indonesia

 Yayasan Pure Earth Indonesia (PE Indonesia) saves and improves lives, particularly lives of children in poor communities, by reducing disease-causing pollution. We carry out our work through a combination of approaches that include research, technical intervention, policy, public campaign and local capacity building.


Indonesia Comms Manager will create visibility and awareness among stakeholders about PE Indonesia and its work in solving pollution problems in the country and region.  PE Indonesia aims to become a leader in online engagement driving awareness, interest and action on pollution issues.  Goals for the position are to establish and grow social media channels, build and achieve audience engagement, generate compelling content representing the work of the organization, drive website traffic and gain press coverage for key accomplishments.

 The Communications Manager will manage PE Indonesia’s channels (website and social media) and execute the communications strategy into powerful online content that is based on human story-telling and appealing visuals. Content generated in the PE Indonesia office will be used by PE Indonesia and its partners to bring visibility to key accomplishments and garner additional support for projects.  The Communications Manager will implement the online dissemination of PE Indonesia’s key messages in collaboration with partners online assets based on an agreed strategy.

 The Communications Manager will also be responsible for providing comprehensive analytics and insight from all online communications.

 Scope of Work

 Communications strategy

  • Implement communications strategy consistent with the overall Pure Earth communication strategy;
  • Assist Director of Strategic Comms in developing and updating communication strategy
  • Generate and share content daily and periodically to build meaningful connections and interaction with targeted communities and networks users.

Social media

  • Create monthly editorial calendars and editorial plan for all PE Indonesia social media channels;
  • Create appealing & engaging content & posts to be disseminated on social media, incl. Instagram, TikTok and linked-in;

 Press and media management

  • Draft press release and report for PE Indonesia
  • Build network and connections with media houses and journalists to pitch relevant PE finding, reports & stories

Website management

  • Optimize PE Indonesia webpages and social media pages to increase the visibility of content through but not limited to – search engine optimization.
  • Write and post webpage blogs & updates

Online metrics

  • Analyze digital/social data/ metrics and generate insights for further improvement on PE Indonesia’s online communications.

Newsletter and Blog

  • Produce and disseminate newsletter and blog stories or other email pitches to PE Indonesia’s subscribers;
  • Assist Director of Strategic Comms in developing strategy to boost subscribers for PE Indonesia’s newsletters and blogs.


  • Make communication asset (graphics, photos and videos) from any program/project related activities;
  • Make presentable and accessible documentation archive as PE Indonesia’s database.


  • Continuously look for innovative online platforms that can be utilized to tell stories, disseminate research findings and key messages of PE Indonesia;
  • Identify and collaborate with partners to assist dissemination of PE Indonesia’s key messages in other relevant channels;
  • Establish relationships with social media influencers and members of press;
  • Collaborate with Director of Strategic Comms, PE Indonesia staff and Pure Earth International staff to identify, frame and tell stories and/or information from each project consistent with Pure Earth’s overall communication strategy;
  • Provide monthly social media development and/or engagement report.



  • Ability to think and plan strategically and creatively;
  • Proven working experience in digital and social media for at least three years. An individual with working experience in an environmental organization is preferable;
  • Excellent writing, editing (photo/ video/ text), presentation, and communications skills;
  • Demonstrable social analytics tools knowledge;
  • Adequate knowledge of web development and content management software;
  • Adequate knowledge of social media tools and their specific functions;
  • Good interpersonal communication skill;
  • Flexibility to work in the field;
  • Positive attitude, eyes on details with good multitasking in a fast-paced environment;
  • Fluent in English and bahasa Indonesia;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or any other relevant field;
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the environmental issues, and ability to operate photo/videography equipment will be a plus.
