New York, NY — September 11, 2025 Pure Earth is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Richard Reithinger as its new Vice President of Programs.

A global public health leader with more than 25 years of experience, Dr. Reithinger has directed large-scale initiatives in disease prevention, control, surveillance, and elimination across government, nonprofit, and private sectors. He previously served as Vice President of Global Health at RTI International and most recently as an RTI Distinguished Fellow in Global Health.

Dr. Reithinger is a recognized expert in communicable and non-communicable disease epidemiology and implementation research, with more than 140 peer-reviewed publications. He also serves on the Technical Review Panel of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and on the editorial boards of several leading scientific journals.

Dr. Reithinger holds a PhD in Epidemiology and an MSc in Medical Entomology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
