Accra, Ghana – April 4, 2025 – Pure Earth, a U.S.-based non-profit organization dedicated to developing evidence-based solutions for mercury and lead pollution in low and middle-income countries, is excited to announce the visit of its Vice President of Programs, Mr. Gabriel Sanchez, to Ghana from April 7 to April 15, 2025.

This visit highlights Pure Earth’s commitment to tackling the environmental and health challenges posed by heavy metal pollution and promoting sustainable solutions.

Mr. Sanchez’s itinerary includes monitoring ongoing projects and launching a new three year initiative focused on combating lead pollution in consumer products. He will engage with various stakeholders, including Ministers of State, government agencies, Ambassadors, industry leaders, civil society organizations, and local communities. These discussions will center on collaborative efforts to address lead(Pb) and mercury pollution through policy development, capacity building, and innovative solutions to mitigate lead (Pb) and mercury contamination.

“We recognize the pressing need for sustainable solutions to the issues of lead (Pb) and mercury pollution and poisoning affecting public health. This visit is a significant step towards forging partnerships that foster positive change,” stated Rev. Dr. Esmond Quansah, Country Director, Pure Earth Ghana.
