Pure Earth President Drew McCartor will be speaking at TED2026 in Vancouver, where he will take the mainstage to talk about Pure Earth‘s initiative to protect 500 million children from lead poisoning.
About the TED Talk: As president of Pure Earth, Drew McCartor is fighting a hidden epidemic that kills more people than HIV and malaria combined: lead poisoning, which affects one in three children worldwide. Over the past 20 years, he has led large-scale interventions across Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas, translating evidence into practical solutions to target lead pollution at its source and then build durable prevention systems. Backed by TED’s funding initiative The Audacious Project, Pure Earth will help protect 550 million children from lead poisoning by 2033, working with governments to reduce exposure risks and strengthen public health and regulatory systems across Africa, Asia and Latin America.
