With over 40 years of experience in the field of Occupational and Environmental Health, Dr. Patrick Breysse has extensive experience in academic and governmental leadership positions conducting health studies and leading national efforts to address the most pressing environmental health issues of our times. Dr. Breysse is a highly successful and prolific researcher with over 270 publications having investigated the impact of chemical, biologic, and physical factors on health with a strong record of publishing, attracting external funding, and advising students. While serving as Director of both the National Center for Environmental Health and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (NCEH/ATSDR) at the U.S. CDC, Dr. Breysse led the efforts to address national environmental health issues. During his tenure, Dr. Breysse testified in front of Congress numerous times, and held many briefings with members of Congress and Cabinet Secretaries. Dr. Breysse retired from governmental service in 2022.
