Actress and Advocate Nathalie Kelley Joins Pure Earth’s Leadership Council

Pure Earth is honored to welcome Nathalie Kelley to the Pure Earth Leadership Council. Known for her roles in The Vampire Diaries, Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift, Netflix’s hit series The Baker and the Beauty, and Motorheads, Nathalie brings both star power and a deep personal commitment to environmental advocacy and storytelling.

Of Quechua descent, Nathalie has been a passionate voice for protecting the Peruvian Amazon and the indigenous communities who depend on it. Her efforts to raise awareness about pollution from gold mining led her to Pure Earth and our mission to eliminate mercury use in artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM) in Peru and beyond.

“Pure Earth has been working in Madre de Dios for over a decade. They’ve built trust with local, legal miners, training them on mercury-free practices and helping reforest land damaged by mining,” said Nathalie in a new Instagram video posted on Wednesday. “I’ve made the big step to join Pure Earth’s Leadership Council—so I can support their work, raise awareness, and help scale solutions that actually work.”

“This is a deeply complex issue. There are no quick fixes. But what gives me hope is seeing work that centers both people and the planet. That’s why I’ve joined Pure Earth’s Leadership Council. I needed to support an organization that honors local leadership and offers real, tangible solutions to prevent mercury pollution,” writes Nathalie on Instagram.
